You've Seen a Million of These...

so I hope you can stand one more!

I finished my FLS on May 1st (May Day! May Day!) but she didn't have buttons until this past weekend when Josie, LeftCoastKnits, Knitpsycho and I went to Stone Mountain and Daughter in search of buttons.

I suck at self portraits. (psst..Make a note of the basket of make-up on the bathroom--it comes up later in the story).

Stone Mountain has a fantastic collection of buttons-don't believe me? Click HERE

After sorting through a gazillion buttons, I picked this one. I love the vintage-y feel.

Since I couldn't get a decent self portrait, here she is lying on the bed:

Pattern: February Lady Sweater by Pamela Wynne
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Heavyweight, Jasper colorway
Needles: Size 7, Knitpicks options
Notes: I knit the yoke a size smaller than the body (and had to so some fancy math to figure it out) but its still came out a little too big.

It's warm here out west but our office AC has been on mega overdrive for the past week so I actually wore it to work today over a t-shirt and was quite comfortable. (Office AC is often on the cold side but it's been so cold we were showing up in our winter boots and sweaters and still freezing) Figures that this afternoon they finally adjusted it and I had to take it off so it goes in the drawer until Fall.

Now, remember the basket of make up on the counter in the first photo?

In case you wonder if the Gangsta Kitties have been behaving themselves, take a look what I found when I came home from work today:

Vet Visits & WIP Wednesday

As you know, there hasn't been a whole lot of knittin' going on lately but I have eeked out 2.9 afghan squares (I'll post a better photo after they're blocked):

And few more inches on the Boise Shawl:

Namaste has come out with some groovy new bags and, as we all know, it's not what you knit, it's how good your knits look while your carrying them around that counts:

$60 bucks y'all.

Today the Gangsta kitties had a visit to the Vet's office for their annual booster shots. I took them in two separate carriers but Mika jumped in with Cary while we waiting for a second temperature reading:

"Oww, Mika you're stepping on my paw..get. off. me."

"iz skared carewee!"

"It's okay kid, we'll get her back. I found her Weight Watchers score card"

WIP Wednesday

After my lost Summer, it's good to get back into regular knitting and I was happy to get in some post Mother Bear knitting time over the three day weekend:

Finally got going with my Peace Fleece Everyday Cardigan--have to catch up with Zknitter! (but I won't bet on it). Knitting with worsted weight wool in 90+ degree heat is a challenge but I had the AC going so I avoided the risk of sweat-felting my project!

And I made a baby cardigan for a colleague at work (still need to buy some buttons):

There's a pucker on the right side that I'm not happy about so I'll try to steam block it out.

Pattern: Raglan Cardigan with Fully Fashioned Shaping
from Baby Knits for Beginners by Debbie Bliss
Yarn: Rowan Cashsoft DK 57% extra fine merino, 33% microfiber, 10% cashmere
Needles: Addi turbos, sizes 7 & 4

And for no reason whatsoever, I give you a kitty in a window:

Let me out of here!
