Spring Blogstalkin'

Knitty Blogstalkin' went into hibernation but is showing signs of life this week with a "Spring has Sprung" assignment.

The front of my house has a pretty tall bougainvillea but this is what happened after the very cold winter (in California standards):

I thought this bush was a goner but lately I've seen some of these:
I'm hoping she survived. I'll keep you posted because when it blooms, the colors are amazing.

Speaking of surviving, I survived my first short row toe up sock! This is the first sock on the first installment of the Rockin' Sock Club.

1. Short row heel-it fits!

2.Cabled the leg:

3. One sock done:

4. Starting sock two:

You have spring and we don't. Beautiful pictures, thanks for putting me in the mood for green. It will happen eventually, I know it will.

The sock rocks. I just wound my yarn and am about to start. This will be my first toe-up sock too, so I'm excited.

wah! I miss the bougainvillea!! I lived in the Bay area for 10 years, and miss the huge array of flowers that grow there. Its all petunias and impatients here in the Midwest...

It looks like your bougainvillea has survived the winter ok. Fingers crossed you get plenty of flowers.

I thought spring had arrved here in the UK but the weather has gone back to nasty cold winds and sleet / snow. Yuk!

Bougainvillea is one of my favorite things. I love the colors of it it just makes me happy. The dark deep reds and the riotous purples. If I ever move away from California I will miss it very much. I'm glad yours looks to be coming around.

The socks are cool, I'm diggin' the cables. I've never done a toe up sock either.
