In One Month and 2 Days, I'll Finally Be Able to Sit Down...

On the 26th of July, Team Unraveled joined the huge walking team, the Warming Hut Hotties, for a 21.5 mile training walk from San Francisco to Tiburon.

6:30AM-we head out:

And over to and across the Golden Gate Bridge:

Originally I had planned to photograph our long journey but the next gazillion miles were a blur. We got lost, we got tired, we got blisters, we got sunburned, we got hungry, we got crabby, we got separated and, after 23 miles we ended up in Tiburon where we could sit in a lovely outdoor cafe and smile once again:

Josie enjoys some well deserved ice cream

It's kinda hard for me to grasp that, 4 months ago, I wouldn't even walk around the block and now I can do this:

No one actually walked on water, btw. That's a ferry

Knitting has been reduced to quick and easy projects that still end up being Walking related:

A Malabrigo Koolhaas in the Geranio colorway for cool San Francisco nights:

And the official (warm) headgear of Team Unraveled

Also, a pink cotton kerchief to hide "3-Day Hair"knit in Rowan Handknit dk. (3-Day hair is what you get after a day of walking, a shower and no blow dryer)

clearly I have not had a botox shot....

Fundraising update: Because of the extreme generosity of knitting friends, muggle friends, work colleagues and my lovely family I have exceeded my 3-Day Fundraising Goal and have over $3000 in donations!! Thank you all SO very much for your support and words of encouragement! (I owe some thank you drawings so stay tuned)

Speaking of donations, one of my teammates, KnittingPsycho, (who has the best giggle, ever), is working hard to reach her fundraising goal and is hosting a contest where you can win some fabulous prizes! For details visit her blog and please donate!

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! I'm soooooo proud of you! And inspired!! I barely could handle the tons of walking at the San Diego Zoo and Sea World (well, my SIL just never sits down and we had to see everything!). 21 miles!! Kudos!!

Oh, and love the knits!! Sorry, was still distracted by all the walking!

I was obviously deliriously happy to just be SITTING DOWN at that point! That's about the only thing that explains that goofy look on my face... looking forward to September 8th!

That's so wonderful! What good work you've been doing. I like the headgear, too. Nice pink.

I've been thinking about breasts a lot lately. . . wonder if this has something to do with it.

You'll enjoy your sitting down, unless of course you begin to run

Wow!! Good for you - that's quite a walk. You did great and should be so proud.

You know, I thought I had donated - but looking back over my bank records, I think I didn't. Aaahhh. I know you've already passed your goal - but I'm going to make a donation anyway. :)

You should be so proud of yourself. I've been missing your blog and was just wondering today how you were doing with your training.

Can't donate again today, but PLEASE remind us all again just before the event, esp. those who need a boost to their fundraising.

Good luck to you all, keep up the good walking - oh, and the knitting. Yes, the knitting is beautiful. And pink :0) Love the koolhaas (why didn't I get that magazine?!)
